Answers to common questions about using SILICABLE® ECSPRI cable for LV power links

Thanks to its insulating properties, silicone withstands operating temperatures of up to +180°C.

However, in accordance with current standards, to guarantee optimum safety and preserve the integrity of installations, we recommend use at +90°C.

Current installations already have suitable ventilation systems. Replacing a busbar with SILICABLE® ECSPRI silicone cable does not lead to any significant increase in ambient temperature, which would require the use of a more powerful fan. The Joule-effect heat dissipated by the cable is minimal, especially compared with that generated by a drive.

Currents ratings for operating temperatures of +90°C, +110°C and +180°C are available on our website by clicking here.

Should you have any specific questions or require information on short-time current ratings (Icw), please contact our engineering department by clicking here.

In accordance with NF C 15-100-1:2024, SILICABLE® ECSPRI cable is certified :
- Class II for a working voltage of 500 / 835 V.a.c,
- Class I for a working voltage of 600 / 1000 V.a.c.

This certification guarantees safe use in compliance with the regulatory requirements for these classes.

In continuous working condition at +90°C, the cable's surface temperature is around +75°C. This value ensures optimum performance while complying with safety requirements.

Standard NF C 15-100-1:2024 stipulates a maximum voltage drop of between 3 and 5%.

For installations exceeding the usual standards for use at +90°C, we can provide you with a precise estimate of the voltage drop specific to your configuration. Click here to contact us for a personalized study.

Yes, there is no contraindication to using heat-shrinkable sleeve with SILICABLE® ECSPRI cables. However, to ensure optimum performance, we recommend choosing sleeves with an operating temperature equal to or higher than that of the cables, +90°C.

For installations complying with the NF C 15-100 standard, we recommend the use of standard cable lugs available on the market. These lugs are perfectly suited to guaranteeing a safe and reliable connection with SILICABLE® ECSPRI cables.

The bending radius is available in SILICABLE® ECSPRI data sheet : 5 x D, by clicking here.
